Sorghum syrup is a healthier alternative to your everyday molasses. It is a sweet, dark, heavy syrup extracted from the tall cane. It is darker than honey and has flavour like the sweet caramel notes. Unlike molasses, that is simply calories from head to toe, Cane Sorghum syrup actually packs some serious punch! When compared to sugar or molasses it certainly makes the deal a hell lot 'sweeter'!

Health Benefits of Sorghum - Molasses:

  • Energy source: Vitamin B6 which is also known as Niacin is a key component in breaking down food into energy that can be used by the body. It gives a steady flow of energy, unlike sugar which gives sudden boosts of energy on an intake. Vitamin B6 is found in this syrup in a good proportion.
  • Maintains healthy bones: to the high levels of magnesium found in this syrup, it helps in the proper absorption of calcium in the body. Both of these minerals help in the healing and development of bone tissues. This helps in combating conditions such as osteoporosis and arthritis and will keep your bones young well into your old age!
  • Prevents anemia: High levels of copper and iron are also found in Sorghum Syrup Molasses Alternative. As we are aware, Copper helps in the intake of Iron which cures one of anemia. Copper and iron help in the development of red blood cells. This gives rise to an increase in scalp growth.
  • Managing diabetes: The breakdown of excess carbs into simple sugar is the major cause of diabetes. Sorghum has a high amount of tannin which inhibits the starch absorption and regulates insulin level in the body. It eliminates the plunges and spikes in the glucose level and prevents diabetic shocks.
  • Improves cognitive health: Phosphorus helps maintain cognitive health. Sorghum prevents phosphorus deficiency which is associated with cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases, thus improving cognitive health.
  • Improves mood: Vitamin B6 plays a major role in a production of serotonin which controls the mood. It assists the brain to produce this hormone which treats mood disorders, uplifts your mood, hinders depression and increases concentration.
